PROJEX were engaged as the Principal Contractor by Microsoft for the fitout of the level 2 office space at 6 National Circuit.

The works were delivered under a lump sum method and over a short 9-week period. PROJEX took possession of the base building fitout commencing minor demolition works in the lead up to the Christmas break, leaving only 7 weeks to complete the high-end fitout with a drop-dead deadline.

The objective of the project was to expand the Microsoft tenancy from its Level 4 fitout and provide functional areas
to complement the Level 4 space. This included an open plan workstation area, private executive offices, multiple meeting rooms, quiet areas, breakout space, storage, and a kitchenette.

Timing was a critical factor to the success of the Microsoft Fitout. Due to the complexities of Microsoft infrastructure, the communications room had an early completion date of only 6 weeks from commencement. Microsoft had also organised the transfer of employees into the new space 9 weeks from commencement, establishing critical project deadlines.

Adding to the timing constraints, the project commenced in the week prior to the construction industry shutdown over the Christmas period. PROJEX successfully managed these milestone dates by procuring trades and long lead items in this critical time through established industry relationships. Coordination of these trades and active management of their procurement added to the timely handover of the project to the end users.
